The Elkton Rotary Club held its 2nd annual Firecracker 5K Saturday morning.
The 3.1-mile race saw over 100 participants follow the race path that took them down West and East Main, Allensville Road, Goebel Avenue, South Main Street, circle TCCHS, and end at the historic Elkton Square. The race raised funds for the Happy Feet Program, a regional effort to ensure that children start the new school year with new shoes that fit.
The race surpassed its $6,000 goal, raising $8,713.60.
