Dana Watts Bradshaw is a 2005 graduate of Todd County Central High School.
She values most from Todd Central her relationships with friends and with her now husband, Mitchell Bradshaw. The two started dating while students at Todd County Middle School and continued throughout their time in high school. Now, they have been married for 19 years and together for 24. She says they built the life they have now based on the foundation they built together at Todd Central.
Bradshaw says she will always treasure the memory of taking childcare career classes with her friends and loved spending time at South Todd Elementary working with the Pre-K students. She adds she was not a fan of math in high school, as she always preferred art classes, but also loved her math classes with Virginia Howard and Kathy Dobbs because they tried so hard to make sure she understood. She notes Dobbs even tutored her son years later.
She advises current Todd Central students to just have fun. Also, to always be themselves and to pick a job in life that brings them joy. She says being rich doesn’t come from money and life is too short to worry.
To current educators, she says to find the kids who seem to have no friends in school and take the time each day to chat and be kind to them. They might be the only person they talk to at school that day, so Bradshaw says their words are important.
After graduating, she began her business “Pretty In Paint” 11 years ago while being a stay-at-home mom. Now, she says her husband is able to work with her full-time.
Bradshaw was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and currently lives in Elkton with her husband and two children, Gunner and Ethan, who both attend Todd Central.
