The Todd County Chamber of Commerce and H & R Agri-Power have announced the highly anticipated 5th Annual Agriculture Appreciation Breakfast, set to take place on Tuesday, February 20.
The event aims to celebrate and honor the county’s largest industry, agriculture while showing gratitude to the hardworking farmers.
Tonja West, President of the Todd Chamber, expressed her excitement about partnering with H & R Agri-Power for this event. “It’s our chance to highlight our largest industry in the county and show our farmers how much they mean to us,” she said.
The breakfast will be held at the Elkton Baptist Life Center, located at 301 E. Main Street in Elkton, from 7:30 to 9:00 AM. Rhonda Werner, Chair of the Ag Breakfast Committee, revealed that this year’s guest speaker will be Jason Hassert, the owner of the popular YouTube channel “Big Tractor Power.” With 500,000 subscribers, 30 million views, and over 2,600 videos, Hassert’s channel is a leading source of tractor specifications and production history.
Billy Goat Hill Farm to Table Kitchen, a renowned local restaurant and catering business known for raising their own beef, will be catering the breakfast. Attendees can look forward to receiving gifts from event sponsors, being eligible for door prizes, and having the opportunity to bid on the prize-winning ham from B&B Farms. The proceeds from the ham auction will benefit Todd County 4-H and FFA.
Werner expressed her enthusiasm for the ham auction, stating, “It’s been great to see how much money we’ve raised for FFA and 4-H over these past four years through the auction.” She encouraged anyone involved in an agriculture-related business to attend the breakfast, emphasizing the value and respect the community holds for the agricultural industry.
Tiffany Groves, Chamber Executive Director, echoed Werner’s sentiments, saying, “The Ag industry is valued and respected in our community, and I hope everyone involved in farming will plan to stop by and let us show our appreciation for their tireless and admirable work.”
To secure a seat at the breakfast, interested individuals are requested to reserve their spot by February 15. This can be done by submitting an online form available here or by emailing info@toddchamber.com.
