The City of Elkton would like to express its thanks and appreciation to the volunteers who spent many hours decorating Elkton Square for the tree-lighting ceremony.
Starting Nov. 6th, volunteers spent hundreds of hours total decorating the square with lights, garlands, and bows to prepare for the First Annual Elkton Tree Lighting Ceremony on Nov. 25.
Volunteers include Leslie Rager, Cloie Rager, Laura Brock, Kayce Bright, Paisalie Case, Dottie Bell, Rita Dillingham, Anita McClain, Megan Haley, Dakota Shuck, Jill Gale and Tiffany Groves.
Many city employees also volunteered their time, as well as Russell Harris and the Todd County Jail Crew. Knuckles Insurance also loaned the city a lift, allowing for decorations to be placed on the Christmas tree and Courthouse.
Assistant City Clerk Kayce Bright says the tree lighting ceremony had a great turnout and she is excited for it to become a yearly tradition. She adds a big thank you to everyone who helped – it was great to see the community come together to celebrate Christmas and she looks forward to doing it all again next year.
