Jeremy Long is a 1998 graduate of Todd County Central High School.
After graduating, he attended Hopkinsville Community College and is currently an independent contractor with Lyft, Inc. during the day. At night, he works for the Todd County Board of Education as a nighttime custodian.
Long values the memories he made with his classmates the most from Todd Central. A memory he treasures is his English teacher his freshman year who was very particular about sentence structure, proper usage of words, and making marks on papers for revision. His teacher, who is now retired yet still works tirelessly, made him realize that after using all the techniques in her class, seeing someone use improper sentence structures makes him go crazy. He adds sometimes, it makes him go entirely insane. He also remembers his TC Showcase in 1998 and going solo to prom junior year.
Long advises current students to stay the course and follow their dreams. To current educators, he says they should give their best to the students because they are the future of the community. Giving students a positive environment will ensure that they will have a better educational career. He adds to remember that teachers only have one shot to have a positive impact and show students they are there to help. When they don’t help, it shows they are only there for other reasons. Long says these current students are the future.
Long was born in Russellville, Kentucky, and still lives there today.
