The Elkton Christmas Parade was filled with emergency vehicles, first responders, four grand marshalls, and several brightly lit floats Saturday.
The spirit of the parade was dampened by rain shows that fell while floats and brightly lit vehicles made their way from Todd County Central High School, around the square, and along West Main Street. The Todd County Central band was unable to march in the parade due to the rain.
Elkton Mayor Arthur Green says the parade always brings the holiday spirit.
Mayor Green says the community is decorated for the holidays, with a community spirit to match.
He adds having the first responders in the parade was a way to recognize their efforts following the December 9 tornado that swept across southern Todd County.
