After two readings and a public comment hearing, in which none were heard, Elkton City Council has approved its 2023 ad valorem tax rate.
The rates were approved Monday night during a special called meeting. The real property rate remains the same as 2022 at .249 cents per $100 of assessed value, while the personal property rate dropped about 6 cents to .0971 cents per $100.
All motor vehicles and watercraft situated within the city limits of Elkton will be taxed at .303 cents per $100 of assessed value.
