The Robert Penn Warren Birthplace Committee is hosting a country ham raffle, but you must purchase your tickets before Saturday afternoon.
One lucky person will receive the ham that was the first-place winner of the Kentucky State Fair non-commercial ham show this year from B&B Farms.
Tickets are available for $1 each, or you can purchase 6 for $5 at both Elkton Bank and Trust locations, Guthrie City Hall, Guthrie Hardware, Salon 201, and Longhurst & Ladell’s. The drawing will be held in conjunction with the Guthrie Heritage Days this weekend. You will not need to be present to win.
Proceeds will be used to host the local school poetry contests during Guthrie’s Robert Penn Warren Birthday Celebration that will be held in April.
