A Clarksville man was charged after he led law enforcement on a pursuit in Guthrie on August 31st.
Guthrie Police say they witnessed a drug deal between 31-year-old Keith Ball and someone else and while talking with the men Ball got into his vehicle and pulled away passing customers and the officer who was trying to stop him.
During the pursuit, he reportedly hit the officer’s vehicle, tossed a bag of white powder from the vehicle, and pointed what was believed to be a firearm at the officer.
Police say Ball fled at speeds of over 100 mph before driving into a yard on Hadensville Road and driving around the home multiple times before hitting the homeowner’s vehicle colliding with the officer’s vehicle again and driving off.
The pursuit reportedly came to an end on Kentucky 848 when he lost control of the vehicle and wrecked into a ditch.
Police say heroin, pipes, and other drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle. Ball was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, DUI, first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, theft of identity, and failure to maintain required insurance.
Guthrie Police were assisted by the Todd County Sheriff’s Office and the Trenton Police Department.
