The Todd County Funeral Home is honored to have been called to serve the family of Mr. Dwight Payne Smith.
Mr. Smith age 74 of Minooka, Illinois passed away on August 1st, 2023, at the Park Point Nursing Home in Morris, Illinois.
He was born September 22, 1948, in Knoxville, Tennessee son of the late Gilbert and Anne Brodgan Smith. Mr. Smith was a member of the Second United Methodist Church, he retired from the Knox County School System and served as a baseball coach for many years. Mr. Smith played baseball for Austin Peay State University.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife Joan Cox Smith of Minooka, Illinois as well as one son Shane Smith (Caroline) of Channahon, Illinois also surviving are four grandchildren.
Visitation with the Smith family will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 on Saturday, August 12th, 2023, at the Trenton Presbyterian Church. Funeral service is scheduled to be conducted at 11:00 at the Trenton Presbyterian Church with Reverend Mike Bourland officiating, and interment to follow at the Edgewood Cemetery.
