The Todd County Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Ms. Maulta Blake.
Ms. Maulta Blake, age 96 went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 7th. She passed away at her daughter’s home in Elkton.
Maulta was born August 10, 1928 in Clifty, Kentucky. She was one of four daughters born to the late Charlie and Eva Turner Groves.
After graduating from Clifty High School in 1947, she married Eugene Blake of Clifty and the couple moved to St. Louis, Missouri where they opened a family business. She attended O’Fallon Business College and managed the bookkeeping and financial affairs for Blake’s Auto Body Repair Shop for over forty years.
She was a member of Christian Fundamental Church in St. Louis. After moving back to Clifty to help her sisters provide care for their aging aunt, she attended the church of her childhood, Clifty Christian Church and later, Stuart Chapel Church. She was also a member of the St. Louis Order of Eastern Star, Barbee Chapter No. 31.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Eugene Blake in 2011; a son, Clifton Curtis Blake in 2024 and three sisters, Wanda Groves, Nona Phillips and Charlene Slaughter Joines.
She is survived by three daughters, Diane Miller (Mike) of Elkton, Pat Blake of Pacific, Missouri and Aleca Palmisano (Doug) of Labadie, Missouri. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Richard Tennyson (Ginger) of Pacific, Missouri, Chris Tennyson of St. Clair, Missouri, Kevin Miller (Angie) of Russellville, Kentucky, Shane Miller (Jen) of Clarksville, Tennessee, Matthew Palmisano (Taryn) of Beaufort, Missouri and Megan Palmisano of St. Louis, Missouri, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandsons.
Visitation with the family will be on Monday, March 10th from 11:00 until funeral service time at 1:00 in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with her son in law, Rev. Mike Miller officiating. Interment will follow at the Clifty Christian Church Cemetery in Clifty.
