Upcoming Creative Arts Opportunities For 4-H Students

With the start of the new year, Todd County 4-H has a few upcoming creative arts opportunities.

All schools in the district will hold meetings this month for their creative arts clubs. Todd County 4-H, along with the schools’ Family Resource and Youth Services Center, provides supplies for students to create their own art projects during the after-school meetings.

North Todd will hold its meeting Thursday, Jan. 16 from 3:00 – 4:15 p.m. with South Todd’s the following week Wednesday, Jan. 22 from 3:00 – 4:15 p.m.

TCCHS’s club will meet Friday, Jan. 17 in the auditorium during the advisory period and Todd County Middle School will meet Friday, Jan. 31.

Students in grades fourth -12th are invited to take part in a bedazzled snowman art class on the district’s early release day Friday, Jan. 17 from 2-4 p.m. All supplies will be provided at the class, which will take place at the Extension Office. Cost to attend is $10 per person and interested students should sign up by Friday, Jan. 10. by calling the Extension Office at 270-265-5659.

While the county and state fairs are still months away, students can get a head start this winter on the 4-H’s photography categories. The natural resources category has classes in forestry, water, wildlife, insects, plants and natural scenery. Photos should be developed in an 8×10 print for the fairs.
