Three Inmates Charged In Connection To Drugs Being Dropped Off In Elkton

A Greenville, Indiana, woman along with three inmates have been charged after the woman was reportedly caught dropping off drugs in Elkton Sunday afternoon.

Elkton Police say 39-year-old Amber Smith pulled her SUV up to a garage primarily used for inmate work details from the Todd County Detention Center, and she put a large quantity of Suboxone behind a trash can.

She was arrested and charged with trafficking Suboxone, trafficking drugs within 1,000 feet of a school, and first-degree promoting contraband.

After more investigation, Police say three inmates have also been charged in connection to the incident 34-year-old Zachary Dean of Louisville, 30-year-old Marshay Thomas of Louisville, and 34-year-old Paul Stokley of Lexington.

All three inmates are charged with complicity to the following charges trafficking Suboxone, trafficking drugs within 1,000 feet of a school, and first-degree promoting contraband.

Elkton Police were assisted by the Todd County Sheriff’s Office, Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force, and the Todd County Detention Center.
