West Side Church of Christ in Elkton has been developing a substantial outreach program through the years.
Pulpit Minister Doug Gregory says the church has been in the community since 1964 and has some great resources, from a podcast with listeners around the world to a transformative recovery group.
Another barrier West Side has been trying to break down is a language barrier. Recently, Gregory has utilized an online tool to translate his sermons into Spanish in order to better reach the Spanish-speaking community in the area.
For the past three years, Tony Deason has led a recovery group, a series titled Transformation Through Christ, which tackles what Deason calls “life-controlling issues.”
He says the program has opened up many doors for the church and led to many new church members and baptisms.
Every Sunday, West Side Church of Christ holds bible class at 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and a worship service at 10 a.m. Transformation Through Christ is held Mondays at 6 p.m.
