Todd County Emergency Management Director Daniel Smith says eight more storm sirens have been delivered.

This comes after one was installed last month at North Todd Elementary School. The costs are partially covered by a grant from Kentucky Emergency Management’s Special Project Fund.

The eight other sirens will be installed at South Todd Elementary, Todd County Middle School, Clifty, Allegre, Sharon Grove, Kirkmansville, Allensville, and Guthrie in the next few weeks. After the units are installed, Smith estimates over 60% of the population will be within an effective range of a storm siren.

Smith adds they are working to get additional weather radios in the hands of community members who will not be within the range of a newly installed storm siren.
