Jimmy Chowning, 84, of Elkton

Mr. Jimmy Wilkson “Diesel Doc” Chowning, age 84 of Elkton, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at his residence.

Services will be Sunday September 29, 2024. 2:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home with Mr. Randy Chowning officiating. Burial will follow in the Tabernacle Cemetery in Todd County. Visitation will be Sunday September 29, 2024, from 12 Noon until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m. Services will be live streamed at lathamfuneralhome.com.

Mr. Jimmy was born June 9, 1940, in Robertson County, TN. He was the owner operator of Jim’s Diesel Service in Elkton. Mr. Jimmy was a member of the Tabernacle Methodist Church. He loved to play guitar and fiddle, work in his garden and yard and using his CB radios. He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Dean Hulsey Chowning, his parents Robert Cleo Chowning and Velma Powell Chowning, his sons Tony, Steve and Ronnie Chowning, his brothers Bobby, Bill, Donnie and Jerry Chowning, his sister Betty Elmore.

He is survived by his son Kevin Chowning of Greenbrier, TN, his daughters Connie Chowning of Greenbrier,TN, Angela Orr and her husband Byron of Elkton, KY and Karen Fletcher and her husband Jeff of Elkton, KY, his sister Linda Beal and her husband Wilbur of Coopertown,TN, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
