WEKT heads into its second football season with the Todd County Rebels this year, and its first season with coverage on an FM radio signal.
WEKT Program Director Josh Claussen says this past year has been phenomenal for the station, especially with adding the 92.1 FM signal halfway through.
The TCCHS Rebels will play against Monroe County in the first football game of the season Friday, Aug. 23, with WEKT providing game coverage beginning at 5:30 p.m., directly following the 5 p.m. WEKT News Edge segment.
Claussen adds he is excited to welcome Willard Knipp and Russell Jones back this year for another season of coverage. Knipp will be doing the four quarters segment during the pregame with Jones joining in to call the game and provide highlights.
Claussen says Your Sports Edge will also be involved with coverage this year, with the Your Sports Edge Friday Football segment, sponsored by Hopkinsville Community College. The 30-minute segment will feature YSE’s Scott Brown as he highlights all of the games going on across the region.
Coverage for Friday’s game and all future high school home games will be available for the first time on 92.1 FM, as well as 1070 AM, wektradio.com and the WEKT Radio app.
