Since beginning his tenure in Todd County in July 2020, Superintendent Mark Thomas has continually worked to improve local educational opportunities within the school district.
The recent hiring of Dr. Cherise Williams, is no exception, as the district is beefing up its Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment commitment. Dr. Williams comes to the district, previously serving as principal of South Christian Elementary School, and was the guest speaker at Wednesday’s meeting of the Elkton Rotary Club.
Dr. Williams said the district’s ultimate goal is to set students up for success before they graduate, no matter what career path they choose.
She added instead of discussing the barriers to education that hardly ever change, they will take a different approach.
Dr. Williams stated that the district is collaborating with Western Kentucky University to ensure teachers are well-prepared, so parents can feel comfortable making the district their top choice when deciding where to send children to school.
