The Cook-Webb Funeral Home is honored to have been called to serve the family of Douglas Leavell.
Mr. Douglas Leavell age 91 of Guthrie, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Hospice of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green.
Mr. Leavell was born July 7th, 1933, in Trenton, Kentucky son of the late Baker and Myrtle Wheeler Leavell. He was a Veteran of the United States Army where he fought in the Korean War and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was retired from the State Road Department, loved his family, working in the shop, mowing, and sitting on the porch.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife Pauline Leavell, one son Wayne Leavell, one brother John Leavell, and one sister Ann Korando. He is survived by three daughters Deborah Davenport and husband Larry of Clarksville, Tennesse, Pamela Redfern of Guthrie, and Patricia Turgeon of Guthrie. Also survived by one brother Austin Leavell of Paducah and one sister Ruth Hall of Louisville. Also surviving are four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the Leavell family will be held on Tuesday, July 30th, 2024, from 12:00 until 2:00 at the Cook-Webb Funeral Home. Funeral service is scheduled to be conducted at 2:00 in the chapel of the Cook-Webb Funeral Home with Shane Hessey officiating, and interment to follow at the Highland Cemetery.
