City Of Guthrie Hosting Independence Day Celebration Friday

The City of Guthrie will present an Independence Day Celebration the evening of Friday, June 28.

Deputy Clerk Connie Wofford says the celebration will take place from 5-10 p.m. in downtown Guthrie on Ewing Street. She adds the block from 3rd to 2nd Street will be closed to traffic throughout the duration of the event.

The free event will feature food vendors, including Bunz Out and Homeboy BBQ & Kingfish, as well as arts and crafts vendors and live music. The Ft. Campbell-based 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Rock Band will perform from 6-8 p.m. followed by Brock Saywer and 41A from 8-10 p.m. The event will conclude with a fireworks show at 10 p.m.

Wofford says she is hoping for a great turnout at the event.

The community is encouraged to bring their own blankets and chairs and enjoy a fun-filled night downtown.
