Todd County School Board approved the 2024-25 school year budget during Monday evening’s meeting.
The $21,437,000 budget includes a 1.5% raise for all school district employees and additional raises for both bus drivers and custodians-positions the district continues to struggle with filling and retaining.
School bus drivers will receive an additional $.50 per hour, increasing the starting hourly rate to $16.14 per hour. Custodians will receive an additional $1 per hour, increasing the starting hourly rate to $12.57.
Board members also approved an interlocal cooperative agreement with the City of Elkton for the treatment of wastewater at North Todd Elementary.
In a meeting last Thursday evening, Mayor Arthur Green told the city council that the city has applied for a grant that will allow for a sewer line extension from the city to the school.
Trixie Soares, 3rd grade student at North Todd Elementary was recognized as the May District Student of the Month.
Madi Harrison and Mollie Skipworth, juniors at Todd County Central were recognized for their acceptance into the Governor’s Scholar Program.
