Air Force Colonel Ashley Groves is set to become the new Todd County Emergency Management Director, with his new role beginning in mid-June.

Colonel Groves brings 28 years of experience with the Air Force to the position, including 20 years with the Kentucky Air National Guard – which he told Your WEKT News Edge is closely related and prepared him for this position.

During an introduction to Todd County Fiscal Court Friday morning, Col. Groves thanked interim director William Randolph for his recent efforts.

Col. Groves commended the community for coming together to help each other out in recent natural disasters. Groves mentioned that he has been receiving phone calls from people offering assistance for his upcoming tenure, which he said he appreciates.

With the recent statewide flooding, Col. Groves has been working to establish contacts to have a team ready to go, if ever needed.

Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield announced during the meeting that a meet and greet for Col. Groves will be held Monday, April 21 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, inside the 1976 Court House.
