TCCHS Art Students To Showcase Pieces In Annual Exhibition

TCCHS’s visual art students are preparing for their annual spring art show at the end of the week.

The annual exhibition showcases projects that visual art teacher Lexie Johnson’s students have been working on throughout the year.

On Friday, April 11, the high school’s cafeteria will be transformed into an art gallery, where Johnson says every piece will be labeled and available for purchase. She allows her students to price their artwork themselves with prices set at a number they feel comfortable with.

Students will receive a percentage from their sale with the rest going toward funding for the school’s art classroom.

Johnson says every student in her classes will have at least one piece featured in the exhibition. With six classes, she adds the gallery will have a pretty good range of different artworks and mediums.
