It’s Time For Elkton’s Annual Spring Cleanup

The City of Elkton will hold its annual spring cleanup over the span of Monday, April 14 and Tuesday, April 15.

Residents within Elkton’s city limits can move large items and junk to the curb and the city will pick them up to dispose of. Individuals should have their items on the curb by 8 a.m. Monday morning.

The city will NOT pick up the following items:

  • Batteries
  • Paint
  • Freon
  • Medical waste and needles
  • Regular household garbage
  • Shingles
  • Electronics and TVs
  • Tree toppings
  • Tires
  • Limbs
  • Oil and gasoline
  • Construction and demolition waste
  • Any other item deemed hazardous or harmful

Electronics can be taken to the Garth Lane Center.

Residents with large appliances such as kitchen appliances, air conditioning units, and washing machines should note the Todd County Conservation District will hold a “Trash for Cash” event Tuesday, May 13, allowing residents to trade in up to 10 appliances for $20 per item.

Senior citizens or disabled residents who need help moving items are encouraged to call City Hall at 270-265-9877 by Friday, April 11 at 4 p.m.
