A Todd County man is following in his father’s foot steps in public safety after graduating Friday morning.
According to the Department of Criminal Justice training website, Holden Hampton graduated his four-week dispatch academy training in Richmond, and will join Todd County Dispatch.
His father is Marc Hampton, the chief of the Fairview Fire Department. Marc said he is very proud of his son.
He added his son chose to go to EMT school on his own and he applied for this job without him even knowing about it.
Marc added it’s comforting to know that he’s got his back if things go south.
The training included identifying the role and responsibilities of the dispatcher, correct phone and radio procedures, handling emergency and nonemergency calls for service, using emergency medical dispatch protocols, and using the state and national criminal databases.
