Todd County Central High School Alumni Spotlight: Sarah Belanger

Sarah Elisabeth Belanger is a 1991 graduate of Todd County Central High School.

Belanger says she received a good education from Todd Central, one that prepared her for college, and during her time there, she made friends that she still keeps in contact with today. She adds she enjoyed her four years of playing basketball at the school and will always treasure going to the state competition with the team her senior year. Belanger also has fond memories of Ms. Wells’ English IV class and Mrs. Osborne’s algebra class.

After graduating, Belanger earned a bachelor’s degree from Austin Peay State University and a master’s in education from the University of the Cumberlands before coming back to Todd Central to teach math.

Belanger advises current Todd Central students to take their earbuds out and listen to their teachers. She adds they should try to learn because the information will come in handy in the future. To current educators, she says to keep trying to reach students by teaching the content and making it relevant to their lives.

Belanger was born in Clarksville, Tennessee and now lives in Elkton, Kentucky. She has two children, Kaylee Younce and Cody Belanger.
