Work on developing a long-range comprehensive plan for Todd County continued at Thursday evening’s meeting of the Joint City-County Planning Commission.
Commissioners represent the county at large and the 3 incorporated cities—Elkton, Trenton, and Guthrie— within the county.
The comprehensive plan is aimed at providing a blueprint for future public and private land development and zoning and infrastructure issues.
Planner Sharon Armstrong from Plans and More LLP in Russellville is providing the commission with guidance in the plan’s development.
Commissioners previously approved the plan’s goals and objectives at its December 5 meeting.
Those goals and objectives must now be approved, through a series of meetings and public hearings, by each respective city’s governing body.
Armstrong told commissioners that work on land use and future land use maps will need to begin while awaiting approval of the goals and objectives.
The commission is set to meet again on March 6.
