A small but mighty crowd gathered Sunday afternoon at Todd County High School auditorium to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The 19th annual program, rescheduled after last Sunday’s inclement weather, was sponsored by the Laity and Ministers Alliance of Todd County.
Walter McCombs, III, Boys Basketball Coach at Todd County Central, was the keynote speaker at the program.
McCombs recounted Dr. King’s dream of freedom, justice, and peace for all people and told the audience that the mission was possible.
McCombs encouraged the audience to do their part in pursuit of the mission.
Several members of the Todd County community and the Laity and Ministers Alliance participated in the program including Reverend Phillip Suber, Reverend Lisa Balboa, Reverend Sherry Perry, Jackie Leavell, Willard Knipp, Amanda Brunt, and Dana Orr.
The Todd County School District sponsored a banner, coloring, and essay contest. Winners of the contest include:
