Todd County 4-H Holding Speech And Demonstration Contest This Spring

Todd County 4-H will hold a speech and demonstration contest Thursday, April 17.

Junior age speeches, for students ages nine-14, must be between three to five minutes. Senior age speeches, for students ages 15-19, must be five to seven minutes. Students may also submit a 4-H demonstration, which includes a “how to” speech utilizing props, posters and other visuals. Independent demonstrations and two-member demonstrations are both allowed.

Students should sign up for the contest with the Todd County Extension Office no later than Wednesday, April 9 by emailing Extension Agent Lee Ann McCuiston at lmccuist@uky.edu. The name of the student’s speech or demonstration, student’s date of birth and contact number should be included.

The contest will be held at Elkton Baptist Church at 11:30 a.m. Everyone participating in the event will receive a free 4-H t-shirt.
