Anna Jo Parmley, president of the TCCHS Alumni Foundation, Inc., shared the 2025 TCCHS Alumni Foundation Scholarship Application is now online at https://tcchs-alumni.org/2025-tcchs-alumni-foundation-scholarships/.
Noting the organization has provided scholarships to the graduates of TCCHS since 2014, she messaged, “Thanks to the generosity of so many individuals, groups, and businesses, we again expect to provide over $30,000 in scholarships for the 2025 graduates of TCCHS.” She also explained scholarships are for graduates who intend to pursue post-secondary education either at the collegiate level or via technical or specialized schools.
Ms. Rachel Westerman, career counselor at TCCHS; Mrs. Brandi Francies, TCCHS’s guidance counselor; and Mrs. Beth Frogue, principal of Logan County Career and Technical Center, were provided the scholarship application prior to Christmas break. To make the application process easier, the alumni organization has condensed the actual form to 10 pages with some pages designated as ones that have to be completed for the application itself while others are basically for general information regarding the application process. Scholarships this year include ones requiring students to have a 3.5 or better GPA with quite a few others requiring a 3.0 or better. A few scholarships are also available for students with a 2.75 or better GPA. This year students will have an opportunity to apply for one new scholarship that allows students with a 2.5 or better GPA to apply.
Ms. Parmley also explained monies generated from the sale of alumni items help to finance several of the scholarships provided by the organization itself. Those items include silicone bands, silicone phone wallets, mugs featuring the two popular murals on the Square in Elkton, blank cards with pictures of local schools and past schools of Todd County, credit/business card holders, commemorative coins, alumni coasters, and the former Elkton Elementary school bricks. Yearly memberships for the organization are available at a cost of $10 while lifetime memberships are $200. Alumni items are currently available at “Something Special” on the Square in Elkton as well as at the Main Street Market in Guthrie.
As true of recent years, the scholarship deadline for students to complete the application is April 15, 2025 with seniors asked to turn in their applications to either Mrs. Francies or Ms. Westerman. Seniors are also encouraged to seek help from Mrs. Francies or Ms. Westerman if questions arise. Current officers for the TCCHS Alumni Foundation include Ms. Anna Jo Parmley, president; Linda Fritz, vice-president; Joyce Darby, treasurer; and Carolyn Wells, secretary. Directors-at-large include Jeremy Long, Charlotte Morrow, and Sue Neeble. The alumni organization meets the third Tuesday of each month (except December) at 4:00 in the group meeting room at the Todd County Public Library located at 507 South Main Street. Visitors are always welcome to attend.
