Funeral services for 97-year-old Nellie Ruth Porter, of Pembroke, will be 1 PM Saturday at Trenton Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in the Rosedale Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until the funeral hour.
Latham Funeral Home of Elkton is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include:
Her son, Gary Porter, of Pembroke;
Her daughters, Susan Marsh and her husband, Gerald, of Hopkinsville, and Lee Porter, of Georgetown, KY;
Her grandchildren, Heather Powell and Miles Powell and his wife Ashley, her great grandchildren Porter, Liam and Edye Powell.
Reverend Dean Anderson and Reverend Greg Mathis will be officiating.
She was born June 12, 1927 in Trenton.
She was retired from Christian County School System, where she served as Teacher’s Aide at Pembroke Elementary School for 27 years. She was a member of the Trenton Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and served on the Fellowship Committee. She loved to cook and raise roses.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim Camp and Minnie Lee Moore Camp, her husband of 63 years Charlie Porter in 2017, her daughter Terry Powell in 1989, nine brothers and one sister.
