The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has recently revealed plans to deactivate the caution lights along U.S. 79 in Guthrie in preparation for an upcoming construction project.
This affects the caution lights at the intersection with Kentucky 181 and the four-way intersection leading into downtown Guthrie. The move comes with the need to relocate the poles supporting the current flashing lights as part of the U.S. 79 widening project.
In place of the caution lights, the transportation cabinet will install flashing warning signs.
