First Week Of December Is Busy Time For Todd County Public Schools

The first week of December is a busy one for the Todd County School District, with students returning to campus, the high school basketball season commencing and esports teams competing in state playoffs.

Superintendent Mark Thomas welcomed students back to campus Monday after their Thanksgiving break – immediately jumping into an action-packed week.

This week marks the opening season for TCCHS basketball and Thomas invites the community to come out and support the boys and girls teams on the court.

He adds Todd County Middle School’s boys and girls basketball teams are already halfway through their seasons and will soon be heading into district play.

This week is also an exciting time for TCCHS’s esports league. Thomas shares two of four teams, Mario Kart and League of Legends, are currently in the playoffs for the state championship.

Todd Middle’s band will hold their annual Christmas concert Tuesday, Dec. 10 and TCCHS will perform theirs Tuesday, Dec. 17. All performances will take place in the high school auditorium.

Looking ahead, there are only three more weeks left in the fall semester. Thomas reminds students Friday, Dec. 20 will be an early release day, transitioning into Christmas break and marking the end of the first half of the 2024-25 school year.
