As November approaches, the Todd County School District prepares to honor local veterans, students and staff will enjoy a brief break from class and the district’s last remaining fall sports are seeing great success.
Superintendent Mark Thomas shares TCCHS will hold an annual Veterans Day breakfast and program to recognize and honor veterans in the community. The program will be held at the high school Friday, Nov. 8.
North Todd Elementary second and third graders will also pay tribute to veterans in a program Thursday, Nov. 7.
Thomas adds there will be no school for students Monday, Nov. 4 or Tuesday, Nov. 5. Later in the month, Tuesday, Nov. 26 will be an early release day for Thanksgiving.
Thomas offers his congratulations to the TCCHS girls volleyball team who made it to the district championship game last week and placed second overall. He says their win qualified the team to move on to regional play this week.
The high school’s esports team is currently wrapping up their preseason as well. Thomas says the district has two competitive teams and both will already begin their winter season with a state ranking.
As the district continues to celebrate its achievements, Thomas thanks the community for everything they do on a day to day basis to make Todd County such a wonderful place.
