After 27 years of service with the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Jen Harris is retiring as the director of the Todd County Health Department.

Her retirement is effective December 1st.

Her career has included eight years with the Christian County Health Department and over 15 years at the Todd County Health Department. Over the last 15 years, Harris has seen many things come across her desk, including the global pandemic in COVID-19.

Harris expressed gratitude to her staff for enabling the successful operation at the 617 West Main Street building, the former location of the Todd County Water District.

Brooke Johnson will take over as the new director of the health department on December 1st. Johnson was hired from within the department after five qualified applications were turned in.

Harris, who calls Sharon Grove home, is not going anywhere. She is the owner of Hip Harvest located on Elkton’s Square and has her hand in other business ventures.
