Music Monday: Morgan Alexander

Morgan Alexander is the final talented musician who will perform at HarvestFest Saturday, Sept. 28.

Alexander originally hails from Oregon, and says a little over a decade ago, he visited the South during a vacation and never went home.

He also hasn’t always been a musician. Alexander was formerly an administrative assistant at a retirement home and later, a country music radio DJ.

Although he loves the storytelling of country music, Alexander grew up around jazz and now does “a little bit of everything”, writing songs for gospel, blues, r&b and even some hip-hop.

For Alexander, the ability to connect with people is one of music’s gifts, from connecting with artists who influenced him to just having conversations with folks, including on the radio.

He also adds during his radio career, listening to the country music greats helped him become a better musician.

Alexander says he is so excited to perform in Elkton and shares his set-list will feature a mix of original songs, including some he hasn’t even recorded yet, and some classic country tunes that mean a lot to him.

Alexander can be found online and on social media at “Morgan Alexander Music.”
