Todd County’s Fall Sports Continue To Bring Home Victories

As the school year progresses, most Todd County fall sports are well into their seasons and beginning to bring home victories.

Superintendent Mark Thomas wants to offer a huge congratulations to the TCCHS Band who performed very well at their competition this past weekend and won first place in every category in their division. Against all competing schools, TCCHS remained in the top 10 and placed seventh overall.

This past weekend, Thomas says the TCCHS boys and girls soccer teams both won their respective All “A” regional tournaments, marking the third year in a row for both teams to place first.

Both teams will now move forward to Super-Regionals to compete for a spot in the top eight for the All “A” State Competition. In addition to regionals, the soccer teams are also in the middle of district play and despite being in the center of two different competitions, are performing well.

The TCCHS volleyball team is also performing well and won runner-up at their All “A” Regional Championship in a “nail-biter game”, coming just a hare short of winning the championship, says Thomas.

Thomas adds the district’s other fall sports are fully into their seasons and continuing to do well, including the middle and high school football teams, the cross country team, e-sports team and middle school softball team. He invites the community to come out to Todd County’s upcoming home games and matches and cheer on the students for another set of victories.

Thomas notes Friday, Oct. 4 will be an early release day for students as they will be out of the school the following week for the district’s fall break and return to campus Monday, Oct. 14.
