Local Food Ministry In Need Of Donations

Ministry 52, a local 501(c)(3) food and community outreach ministry, is currently in need of donations.

The non-profit’s mission is being committed to enriching and restoring the community by spreading the love of Christ and helping those in need.

Board President Joshua Bobbett says the ministry is very involved in the community and is often out on the street feeding homeless individuals.

The ministry also runs a soup kitchen in Todd County once a month, beginning in October and continuing through February.

Ministry 52 is seeking monetary and food donations, as well as sponsorships. Currently, the organization has only one sponsorship, Christ Fellowship Church in Cunningham, Tenn., right outside Clarksville. The group plans to host a free event at the church Friday, Sept. 20, featuring a spaghetti dinner and gospel music. They would gladly appreciate any donations of spaghetti, pasta sauce, garlic bread, plates, and utensils.

The ministry also recently purchased a food truck, allowing the group to more efficiently cook for large groups of people, specifically homeless populations in the region. However, Bobbett says the vehicle needs to be completely renovated and the group is seeking donations for this project as well.

Ministry 52 currently serves Todd and Christian Counties, but has plans to extend to Logan County and into Clarksville.

The story behind the ministry’s name comes from scripture, says Bobbett.
