Marketing efforts for an Elkton property, set to become the next industrial hub in Todd County, are in full swing.

During a Wednesday visit with the Elkton Rotary Club, South Western Kentucky EDC Director Carter Hendricks said the property at 770 East Main Street, formerly known as the Robertson Property, is nearly ready for development.

Hendricks added once all of the improvements are made to the 24-acre property, they will host an event to showcase that it is ready for development.

During his presentation, Hendricks highlighted the efforts of Todd County companies like Novelis, FLEXcon, and DDS Glass Doors, and spoke on the rapid growth in Elkton.

For the tri-county region of Todd, Christian, and Trigg – Hendricks said the agriculture industry is strong featuring a $1.8 billion economic impact, with $1 billion in ag receipts each year.

In the last four years, the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council has helped bring in nine new businesses and has been involved with the expansions of seven others. In that time, those manufacturers have created over 1,500 new jobs, over $100 million in new payroll, and over $2 billion in new capital investments.
