Mrs. Mona Lynn Bass age 78 of Elkton, KY passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 5:23 p.m. at Baptist Health Paducah in Paducah, KY. There will be a private service for Mrs. Bass. She will be buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Todd County. Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bass was born June 8, 1946, in Bonneterre, MO. She had been employed as a nurse assistant for many years and after her employment, she continued to serve and care for her family and friends all her life. She is preceded in death by her parents Morgan Lunsford and Jeneetta Benton Lunsford Bender, her son Dwight Wilson “Dewey” Shelton Jr in 2002, her daughter Kimberly Poyner Groneman in 2019, her grandson Andrew Poyner in 2024, her brother Morgan David Lunsford, her sisters Sherry Jenaetta Matthews, and Arlene Leona.
She is survived by her brother Joseph Edward Lunsford of Oklahoma, her sisters Sandra Lee Prato of Las Vegas, NV, Stephanie Kay Nuckolls, Fletcher, OK, Cherry Anne of Kentucky, and Danni Gray Nunley, her grandchildren Rachel Gibney, Rebekah Poyner, and Matthew Shelton, and 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
