Todd County Superintendent Talks First Day Of School, Fall Sports

The Todd County School District’s staff has been working hard all summer preparing the schools for students to return for another new year.

Superintendent Mark Thomas says he is very excited to welcome back students for the first day of school Friday, Aug. 9 and opening up a brand new school year. He adds the first day of school this year will be an early release day for students.

Thomas thanks all parents of elementary school students who have taken the time to complete the transportation survey for the early release day and encourages those who have not yet had the chance to do so through the district’s website or Facebook page.

The start of the school year also brings the start of fall sports and Thomas is excited to share the TCCHS men’s golf team is well underway with their season.

Additionally, the middle and high school cross country and soccer teams are ready to begin their seasons as well as the middle and high school girls’ volleyball teams and the middle school girls’ softball team.

Thomas says this past academic year was a fabulous school year and he is looking forward for even greater accomplishments for the district’s students this coming school year.

Todd County’s first day of school for K-12 students is Friday, Aug. 9 with preschool starting Monday, Aug. 19.
