North Todd Elementary School held its open house Thursday, Aug. 1 and Principal Laura Boley says families, students and teachers are excited to start the new school year.
Boley says North Todd has seen a few retouches over the summer, with new landscaping, fresh coats of paint inside the school and a revamped teacher’s lounge. She adds the school will also welcome seven new certified teachers this year.
The school’s theme for the new year is “Together We’re Better: I Am North Todd.” Boley says this is a powerful statement and hopes the school can emulate it through academics as well as making memories.
Boley is no stranger to the district and has served as assistant principal at both North and South Todd Elementary Schools in the past. The 2024-25 school year will be her first year as North Todd’s principal and Boley says one of the first things she wants to work on this year is culture and communication within the school.
Preschool open house for North Todd will take place Thursday, Aug. 15 from 5-7 p.m.
Todd County’s first day of school is Friday, Aug. 9 for grades K-12 and Monday, Aug. 19 for preschool.
