Logan County will receive $196,423 in tobacco settlement funds through the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund, as announced at the June meeting of the legislature’s Tobacco Settlement Oversight Committee.

The funds include $100,000 for Cornerstone Veterinary Service to purchase a truck and vet box for ambulatory services, and $96,423 to renovate the large animal treatment and surgery area at the local clinic.

“I am proud to announce that Logan County has been awarded $196,423 in tobacco settlement funds from the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board as an investment in our agricultural industry,” said Representative Jason Petrie.

The funding is part of the Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement fund, established in 1998 between major tobacco manufacturers and 46 states. The Kentucky Agricultural Development Board was moved to the Department of Agriculture in 2021 to serve its mission better.
