A Guthrie man was charged Monday after a report of an attempted theft on North Ewing Street on June 30th.
Guthrie Police say they were called after camera footage showed 19-year-old Xavier Bell trying to open the door to a van before noticing the camera and fleeing the area.
Bell was reportedly identified by officers after reviewing the camera footage and he was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal trespassing and attempted theft by unlawful taking.
Police say they have had several items taken out of vehicles in that area and the West Park Street and Spring Street area of Guthrie.
Police encourage everyone to lock their vehicles to reduce this kind of theft.
