WEKT Celebrates First Year In Todd County

WEKT is celebrating its first year serving Todd County and its community.

July 1, 2023, the Edge Media Group took over the station’s programming, and with each day, has continued to get to know the community it serves.

One year into ownership of the station, Edge Media Group President/CEO Beth Mann says the experience has been every good word she can think of and Todd County is the most supportive community she could ever ask for. The Todd County native adds it’s a dream come true and a perfect matchup – Mann likes to find win-win situations and says there is no doubt the Edge Media Group buying and investing in the county is a win for both the company and the community.

With Elkton recently named one of the fastest growing cities in the Commonwealth – as well as the industrial and agricultural expansion the whole county has seen – Mann says there has been tremendous growth in the past year and all of Kentucky is shining on Todd County right now.

WEKT has expanded in the past year as well, bringing the first-ever FM license to the county in April of this year and adding 92.1 FM in addition to the station’s initial Todd 1070 AM, which has served the county since 1977.

Even as the Edge Media Group begins to take on new radio stations in Madisonville, WEKT’s commitment to the community is not going to change and the station will continue to serve the people of Todd County.
