TVA’s Sequoyah Nuclear Plant Ready For Summer

The management and staff at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant near Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, is helping the Tennessee Valley Authority remain ready to meet summer electric power demands.

During a recent tour of Sequoyah Plant Manager Beth Jenkins says the nuclear reactors and steam turbines are running at full capacity to make sure customers have the electricity they need this summer.

Media and other visitors are required to undergo a background check, pass through a metal detector and bomb-sniffing device before entering the facility, and pass through a radiation detector when exiting the plant.
