Former Elkton Police Chief Passes Away

Bruce Wayne Marklin, a respected figure in the Elkton community, passed away on Wednesday at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He was 70 years old.

Marklin was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Vietnam War and a retired Police Chief of Elkton. He was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon, and a member of American Legion Post 91 in Elkton.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, officiated by Rev. Randy Davenport. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home, and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Marklin of Elkton, daughters Lesley Haddock of Hopkinsville, and Lori Morrow, of Nashville, Tennessee, as well as six grandchildren.
