With just hours to spare in the fiscal year, Todd County’s Fiscal Court met Friday morning to tie up loose ends.
Magistrates approved several items on the agenda, including;
- Two amendments to the county’s 2024 administrative code that will allow for the inclusion of an employee drug and alcohol policy and a data breach policy
- Amendments to the county’s pay scale that replaces starting hourly wage ranges with set hourly rates
- A resolution allowing the jail to apply for a House Bill 1 Jail Arraignment Equipment Grant from the Department of Local Government in the amount of $44,018
- The purchase of a new Chevrolet pickup truck for the county’s road department from Bachman Chevrolet for $50,130
- The first reading of an ordinance, if approved on the second reading, will remove all or portions of several county roads from county maintenance. Roads in the ordinance include Amelia Lane, O’Neil Road, Powell Hollow Road, Harris Drive, Charles Henry Road, Harry Tucker Road, and Barbara Ellen Lane.
In other news, County Ambulance Director John Holder was on hand with the county’s new ambulance.
Holder thanked the Court for its work in purchasing the ambulance and encouraged those in attendance to see the ambulance.
Magistrates also voted to allow a county-wide referendum in November that allows citizens to decide if medical cannabis businesses can operate in the county. With medical marijuana set to become legal in Kentucky in 2025, the state will soon begin issuing licenses for the businesses.
