After eighteen months of construction, the new Todd County Public Library has received its Final Certificate of Occupancy from the Kentucky Department of Housing, Buildings, and Construction.

The facility, located at 507 South Main Street, is now in the final stages of preparation, with furnishings and equipment being moved in as the contractor completes touch-up work and cleaning.

The library’s substantial completion coincides with significant site improvements, including the repaving and widening of Morris Weathers Lane for enhanced safety. Additionally, over 90 new parking spaces have been added, benefiting not only future library patrons but also visitors to the adjoining City-County Park and Senior Citizens Center, which is also undergoing renovations.

The library spans 12,894 square feet and is set to open in late summer. Managed by C & C Contracting, LLC, the project cost $4,080,000, including $770,000 for site development. Major funding was provided by a Public Library Facilities Fund Grant from the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives.

The Todd County Public Library Board, chaired by Heath Shemwell, oversaw the project, with Carolyn Wells serving as the board representative and Audrea Clairmont as the library director. The architectural design was handled by Violette Architecture & Interior Design, with engineering support from Kenner Randolph Engineering, K&S Engineering, PLLC, and SKY Engineering, LLC.
