A group of Todd County students and family members had the opportunity to tour New York City this week as part of a Beta Club-sponsored field trip.
After a multiple year-long hiatus due to COVID-19 restrictions, club sponsor Lisa Petrie was able to continue her field trips again in 2024, something she began with the club several years ago. Including Petrie, 11 students and family members traveled to New York, seeing famous sites such as the World Trade Center, 9/11 Memorial and Museum, Statue of Liberty and many other notable New York attractions. The group also attended a show of brand-new Broadway musical “The Outsiders” during their trip.
A small group from a school in Atlanta, Georgia also shared the tour with Todd County. Todd County students present on the trip included Alaina Nelson, Nolan Key, Kaelin Petrie, Emma Petrie, Emily Thomas, Addileigh Wofford and Kelly Lear. Adults present along with Petrie were Heather Key, Linda Lear and Diana France.
